At Victory Family Worship Center, we believe in nurturing both the spiritual and physical needs of God’s people.
Founded Victory Family Worship Center in Richmond, VA in September 1984. He has pastored the church diligently for the past 31 years. Elder Johnson retired from the U. S. Postal Service in 2007 and has been in ministry full-time since. Prior to being employed in the Postal Service, Russell Johnson served in the U.S. Marines with a tour of duty in Vietnam.
Russell Johnson is a graduate of Madison College (JMU) earning a bachelor’s degree in business education. Elder Russell Johnson was ordained an Elder by Bishop L. E. Willis, Sr. in the Church of God in Christ in 1985. Dr. Johnson was awarded the Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Trinity Bible College.
An inspirational teacher, mentor, author, and founder of several outreach ministries for women and children. She also serves as the Jurisdictional Supervisor of Women for the Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Virginia, COGIC. She is the first Black person to graduate from James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA where she also received her Master’s degree. In 1988 she earned her Doctor of Education degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA.
A former educator, Dr. Johnson helps people move to the next level in their lives through seminars, church services, Bible studies, and the distribution of books, pamphlets, and other media.
The Johnsons blend their gifts, talents, and experiences to provide leadership for Victory Family Worship Center and to minister to mankind – body, soul, and spirit.
Our ministries are committed to serving, uplifting, and empowering individuals from all walks of life through faith, compassion, and dedicated service. We believe in addressing both the spiritual and practical needs of our community by offering guidance, encouragement, and meaningful outreach programs that make a lasting difference. Through prayer, counseling, and various community initiatives, we aim to bring hope, strength, and comfort to those facing challenges in their lives.
Our church provides a safe and welcoming space where individuals and families can grow in their faith, build strong relationships, and experience the true love and grace of God. We are passionate about reaching out to those in need, supporting the less fortunate, and inspiring positive change through acts of kindness and service.
By fostering unity and a spirit of togetherness, we encourage everyone to discover their purpose and walk confidently in their faith journey. Our goal is to create a strong, connected, and compassionate community where love, faith, and service come together to transform lives and make a meaningful impact every day.
